Chapter 2 - Information Please

We have learned over the years that often, people have their own definitions of what virtual learning IS, can be or more importantly CANNOT be.

In this chapter we discuss: Styles of virtual sessions and how to be successful, how to overcome camera shyness or worse yet fear, how to get over yourself, and the fact that you ARE NOT a TV personality. We also cover tips on content building, use of multimedia, overuse and underuse of the tools features, and not calling attention to problems when they arise.
Here are some DO’s and DON'TS on being a virtual host.  These guidelines are set out to help you make some simple decisions on how to host a meeting.

People unknowingly form bad habits by not setting realistic expectations for themselves. Just because you watch TV does not mean you are an actor.  Realizing that you are not a professionally trained broadcaster sooner than later will help you thrive in the virtual environment.

Content is king, and building that content needs to be highly considered in the virtual environment. Your content is front and center in a personal way, you need the content to reflect just enough information to help you tell the story and get the objective met.

Use this tip sheet to help you build your content so that it is supportive, unobtrusive and looks great!
